People explain money in different ways.

  • When I was small, the meaning was simple, Go to the shopkeeper, give this paper thingy, get goods in return. Father has such paper. Period.

  • Naval Ravikant, describes money as “a value that the society owes you because you did something for society”. No construct of paper, coin, currency. If you invest in a company, and you benefit in stocks. The society is saying that you gave us what we “owed” and the company did good for the world and now we owe you more.

  • Morgan Housel, has eliminated the maths part and says that money is more psychological thing than a logical one.
